Caring for your art glass

Some tips for handling and using your glass:

  • Simply clean with a soft cloth, and room temperature water and soap if required. Avoid abrasives or harsh chemicals as they may damage your glass.

  • Talk to the artist about your particular piece if intending to use it with foodstuffs. Some glasses used may not be food-safe.

  • Avoid sharp changes in temperature such as cleaning with hot or very cold water or moving from a cold outdoors to a hot room. Again, speak to the artist if you have any questions about your particular piece

  • Art glass is not tempered and so will create sharp edges if broken. In case of accidental breakage, please take care in handling any pieces.

  • When placing 3-D transparent sculptures in sunlight (e.g. on a window sill), please be aware glass can act as a lens and focus the light on something in the room that may be affected by it.

Enjoy your glass!
